One hot day, a crow was very thirsty. He flew around looking for water. At last, he found a tall pitcher with a little water inside.

He put his beak inside, but he could not reach the water. He tried to tip the pitcher over, but it was too heavy. Then he noticed some small stones on the ground.

He picked up a stone and dropped it into the pitcher. The water rose a little. He dropped in more stones, one by one.

Slowly, the water rose higher and higher. At last, he could reach it and drink.
