Bibimbap is a representative Korean dish. It is made with cooked rice mixed with vegetables, beef and red pepper paste with an egg placed on top. Bibimbap appealed to Americans recently in a full-page advertisement in the Dec. 21 edition of the New York Times.

The advertisement starts with "How about bibimbap for lunch today?" Under the heading, it shows a picture with brief description of the dish and information on Korean restaurants in Manhattan at the bottom. ............
