The madam of the gibang (gisaeng house), CHUN SOO-RYUN,

finishes her performance and is told of a complication.

She heads to the front gate, where Seo-hwa refuses to step foot inside.

윤서화: 들어 가지 않겠다.   I’m not going in.

하인(여): 안 들어오면, 관기로 팔려 온 주제에 워쩌자는 겨?

You cannot do this right now. You’ve been sold to the gisaeng house

by the government.

죽자는 겨?  You want to die?

윤서화: 차라리 죽여라.  Just kill me.

죽으면 죽었지 내 죽어도 그 문을 넘지 않을 것이다.

I’d rather die than go in there.

하인(여): 아그야, 시방 내가 현령님 행차땜시 허벌나게 바쁘다 안 그냐.

Listen, dear, I’m really busy right now because of the governor’s party.

긍께, 좋은 말로 할 때 곱게 들어가드라고.

그렇구나.  I see.

장쇠야!  Jang Shoe!

하인(남): 내 행수 어르신.  Yes, my lady!

천수련: 벗겨라.  Strip her.

윤서화: 왜, 왜 이러시오?  What, what are you doing?
