1. 소개말

나를 소개를 하겠습니다

First of all, I will tell you something about myself. 제 소개를 하겠습니다.

Hi. My name is Hong Gildong. 안녕하세요. 내 이름은 홍길동 입니다.

Gildong is my first name and Hong is my family name. So you can call me just Gildong. 제 이름은 홍길동입니다. 길동이 이름이며 홍은 저의 성(姓)입니다. 따라서 저를 길동이라 불러 주십시오.

In Korea, we put our family name first. 우리나라에서는 성(姓)을 먼저 씁니다.


2.나 이

I am fifteen of age. 저는 15세입니다.

I am a girl 17 years of age. 저는 17세의 소녀입니다.

My birthday is March 15th. 저의 생일은 3월 15일입니다.

When is your birthday? 당신의 생일은 언제입니까?

I am the same age as you. 우리는 동갑이군요.

I was born on June 17th in 1980 and so I will be 16 soon.

 저는 1980년 6월 17일에 태어났으며 곧 16 세가 됩니다.


3. 신 체

What is the color of your hair? 당신의 머리는 무슨 색깔입니까?

I have black hair. 저의 머리는 검은 색입니다.

I wear my hair bobbed, but my elder sister wears her hair in a braid(plait). 저는 단발머리인데 제 언니는 머리를 땋았습니다.

I am near-sighted and so I wear glasses. 저는 근시라서 안경을 쓰고 있습니다.

My face dimples with a smile. 저는 웃으면 보조개가 생기지요.

I look much younger(older) than my age. You look much maturer than your friend.  저는 나이에 비해 어리게(나이 많게) 보입니다. 당신은 당신 친구들 보다 성숙해 보입니다.

I am very healthy(weak). 저는 매우 건강합니다(약합니다).

I am tall and thin. 저는 키가 크고 마른 편입니다.

I am short and stout, but I am not short for a Korea boy of my age.  저는 키가 작고 뚱뚱하지요. 그러나 제 나이 또래의 한국 소년에 비하면 작은 편도 아닙니다.

I am very sensitive to cold(heat). 저는 추위(더위)를 몹시 탑니다.

How much do you weigh? And how tall are you?

당신의 몸무게는 얼마입니까? 키는 얼마입니까?

I am five feet and seven inches tall and weigh 120 lbs.

저의 키는 5피트 7인치이며 몸무게는 120파운드입니다.


4. 성 격

I laugh easily at the slightest thing. 저는 작은 일에도 잘 웃는 답니다.

I am a bit of a tomboy, and I enjoy talking with my friends all the time. 저는 약간 말괄량이라 항상 친구들과 얘기하는 것을 좋아합니다.

I am very shy by nature, and so I usually spend my free time reading books. 저는 천성이 수줍어서 여가를 독서로 보내지요.

I am very careless by nature and so I make at least one blunder almost everyday. 저는 본래 침착하지 못해서 매일 실수를 하나씩 저지르지요.


5. 취 미

Please tell me about your favorite interests.

당신의 취미는 무엇입니까?

I think we have much in common in the way of hobbies.

우리의 취미에는 공통점이 많다고 생각합니다.

I am so happy to know that I have the same hobby as yours.

당신과 저의 취미가 같다니 매우 기쁩니다.

My hobbies are stamp collecting, travelling and sports.

저의 취미는 우표 수집, 여행, 그리고 스포츠입니다.

Swimming in the Summer is also one of my favorite interests.

여름에는 수영도 제 취미중 하나입니다.

I have no hobby in particular. 저는 특별한 취미가 없습니다.

I like collecting all kinds of things such as stamps, coins, viewcards and match-boxes, etc. 저는 우표, 동전, 엽서, 성냥갑 등 무엇이든 모으는 것을 좋아합니다.

I love seeing movies.

나는 영화 구경을 좋아합니다.

I usually go to the movies once or twice a month.

 나는 한달에 한 두 번은 영화관에 갑니다.


 6. 종 교

There is no state religion in Korea and so there are many religions such as Catholicism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Confucianism, and so on. 우리나라에는 국교가 없습니다. 그래서 천주교, 기독교, 이슬람교, 불교, 유교 등 많은 종교가 있습니다.

My family are the followers of Buddhism, but I am a Christian and go to church on Sunday. 저의 가족은 불교를 믿습니다. 그러나 저는 기독교 신자이기 때문에 일요일 마다 교회에 갑니다.


What is your religion? 당신의 종교는 무엇입니까?

I don`t have any religion, but my sister is a believer in Buddhism.

저는 종교가 없습니다. 그러나 제 누나는 불교 신자입니다.


7. 거주지

I live in the bedroom community on the outskirts of Seoul, the capital of Korea. 저는 한국의 수도, 서울 근교의 신도시에서 살고 있습니다.

I was born and brought up in Pusan, the largest harbor city here in Korea. 저는 한국에서 가장 큰 항구도시 부산에서 태어나 살고 있습니다.

I live about ten miles south of Seoul. 저는 서울에서 남쪽으로 10마일 가량 떨어진 곳에 살고 있습니다.

I live in a fishing village on the seaside. It is a small town where everybody knows everybody.

저는 해변가 어촌에서 살고 있습니다. 누구나 서로를 알고 지내는 조그마한  마을 입니다.

My town is a very small one with a population of about there thousand. 우리 마을은 인구 3천명가량의 작은 마을입니다.

I live in the northern part of Seoul at a condominium.

저는 서울 북부의 아파트에서 살고 있습니다.

We live in a two story brick house near Taegu and I share my room with my younger sister.

우리는 대구 근처의 2층 벽돌집에서 살며 여동생과 같은 방을 쓰고 있습니다.

I live in a center of a city named Inchon. Inchon is a port town.

저는 인천이라는 도시의 중심부에 살고 있습니다. 인천은 항구 도시입니다.

I have lived in Seoul since I was 6 years old. I was born in Pusan, the largest seaport in Korea.

저는 6살 때부터 서울에서 살았으며 우리나라 제일의 항구도시인 부산에서 태어났습니다.

8. 지역 소개

Seoul is both the capital and the heart of the Republic of Korea.

서울은 한국의 수도이면서 중심지입니다.

Seoul was chosen as the capital in 1394 at the beginning of the Choson Dynasty. The year of 1994 was the 600th anniversary of Seoul`s foundation as Korea`s capital.

서울은 1394년 조선왕조가 시작되면서 수도로 정해졌습니다. 1994년은 서울 정도 600주년이 되는 해였습니다.

Seoul has numerous skyscrapers now above the graceful architecture of its ancient palaces.

서울은 높은 고층 빌딩을 비롯한 많은 멋진 건축물들과 고궁들이 잘 조화된 도시 입니다.

Seoul is containing about 12 million of the nation`s 44 million people. 서울은 4천4백만의 한국인구중 천2백만을 수용하고 있습니다.

Seoul is financial, political, cultural, educational center of Korea, home to major corporations, government, banks, entertainment facilities.

서울은 금융, 정치, 문화, 교육의 중심지이며 많은 기업들과 정부 사무소, 은행, 위락 시설 등의 본사가 위치해 있습니다.

Pusan has been Korea`s principal international port since 1878 with modern  harbor facilities and a population of 4 million.


부산은 1878년 이래 한국의 중요한 국제항이며 4백만 명의 인구와 현대 부두 시설을 갖춘 도시입니다.

In addition, it has excellent beaches, natural scenery, resorts and other facilities.

뿐만 아니라 아름다운 해변과 자연 풍경, 각종 휴양 시설을 골고루 갖추고 있습니다.

Taejon is one of the principal cities and is rapidly becoming one of Korea`s major scientific centers.

대전은 한국의 중요한 도시 중 하나이며 특히 과학 연구의 중심지로 성장하고 있는 도시입니다.

Kwangju lies at the intersection of the Honam, Namhae and Olympic Expressway. This city has been the administrative & economic center of the province.

광주는 남해, 호남, 올림픽 고속도로의 교차점에 위치한 도시로서 옛날부터 이 지역의 정치, 경제적 중심지입니다.

Inchon is the major port near Seoul. It is a place of great historic importance It was through Inchon that Westerners first came to Korea in the late 19th century.

인천은 서울에서 가까운 중요한 항구 도시입니다. 역사적인 의미에 있어서도 중요 합니다. 19세기말 서양인들이 처음 이곳을 통해 한국에 들어왔기 때문입니다.

Taegu is famous for delicious apples. And the textile industry have been much developed here in Taegu.

대구는 사과가 유명한 곳입니다. 또한 섬유 공업이 아주 발달한 도시입니다.


9. 가족 소개

How many are there in your family?

가족은 몇 명입니까?

I live with my parents, two brothers and a younger sister.

저는 부모님, 주 형제 그리고 여동생과 살고 있습니다.

Now I will tell you about my family.

가족에 대해 말씀드리겠습니다.

My family consists of five.

저의 가족은 5명입니다.

I live with my grandma because my parents are not living.

 부모님이 안 계시기 때문에 할머니와 살고 있습니다.

My father passed away when I was ten years old.

아버지는 제가 10살 때 돌아가셨습니다.

I have two brother but no sisters.

저에게는 두 (남자)형제가 있지만 여동생이나 누나는 없습니다.

I have two elder brothers and a younger brother. He is 12 years old and goes to elementary school.

저에게는 형님 두 분과 남동생이 하나 있습니다. 남동생은 12살이고 초등학교에 다니고 있습니다.

Do you have any brothers or sisters?

형제나 자매가 있습니까?

My elder sister is a university student.

누나(언니)는 대학생입니다.

I am the only child in the family.

저는 독자입니다.

I am the youngest in the family.

저는 집에서 맏(막내)입니다.

My father works for a bank.

아버지는 은행에서 일하십니다.

My father is running a small business.

아버지는 조그만 사업을 하십니다.

My father works in an office in the downtown and he uses subway when he goes to work.

아버지는 시내에 있는 사무실에 지하철로 출퇴근하십니다.

My mom is a housewife. She is always busy taking care of my family.

어머니는 가정주부이시며 가족을 돌보시느라 항상 바쁘시지요.


10. 애완 동물

I have a dog and a cat as pets. The dog is a collie. Its name is "Mary".

저는 애완동물로서 개와 고양이가 있습니다. 개는 컬리종이며 이름은 메리입니다.

Do you have any pets? What kind of animal do you like?

당신도 애완동물이 있습니까? 어떤 동물을 당신은 좋아합니까?

I like all kinds of pet. Especially, I prefer a puppy.

저는 애완동물은 모두 좋아합니다. 특히 강아지를 무척 좋아합니다.
