Has there been a time when you couldn’t find work?

이 도시에 통금이 있던 시절이 있었던가?
Has there been a time when the city had a curfew?

Dialogue 1
A: Has there been a time when there was no war?
지금까지 전쟁이 없던 시절이 있었던가?

기록된 역사는 전쟁투성이지.

B: Before the rise of supermarkets, of course.
슈퍼마켓이 뜨기 전까지는 당연히 그랬지.

Dialogue 3
A: Has there been a time when the city had a curfew?
이 도시에 통금이 있던 시절이 있었던가?

B: Up until the early 1990s, sure.
1990년대 초반까지는 당연히 그랬지.
