A talked B into(out of) C(동사+ing something).
A가 B에게 C하도록(하지 않도록) 설득하다.

<Step 1>
그 사람들 어르신을 부추겨서 물건을 팔았어.
They talked the elderly into buying things.

그녀는 나를 설득해서 쌤하고 일하지 않도록 했어.
She talked me out of working with Sam.

나는 엄마를 설득해서 다시 학교를 다니도록 했어
I talked my mom into going back to school.

경찰이 범죄자를 설득해서 도망가지 않도록 했어.
The police talked the criminal out of running.

정비공한테 설득 당해서 플러그를 교체했어
A mechanic talked me into replacing the plugs.

학생들이 선생님을 설득해서 숙제를 내주지 않도록 했어.
The student talked the teacher out of giving homework.

그녀의 변호사가 그녀를 설득해서 마음을 바꾸도록 했어.
Her counselor talked her into changing her mind.

탐의 아버지가 탐을 설득해서 입대하지 않도록 했어.
Tom’s dad talked him out of enlisting.

Dialogue 1
A : 왜 판매원들이 경고를 받았어?
A : Why were the salesmen warned?

A : 엔진이 이전보다 더 잘 돌아가네.
A : The engine runs better than before.

B : 정비공한테 설득 당해서 플러그를 교제했어.
B : A mechanic talked me into replacing the plugs. 

Dialogue 3
A : 왜 네 친구는 군대에 안 갔어?
A : Why didn’t your buddy join the Army?

B : 탐의 아버지가 탐을 설득해서 입대하지 않도록 했어.
B : Tom’s dad talked him out of enlisting.
